Dr. Joshuah Perkin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ecology and Conservation Biology at Texas A&M University, part of the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences. He joined the faculty in 2017 and specializes in freshwater fish ecology and aquatic landscape ecology. His research focuses on endangered species conservation and has secured over $1.5 million in external funding. He teaches courses in fisheries management and ecological applications using R.

Dr. Perkin serves as an associate editor for a fisheries journal and contributes to the American Fisheries Society.
He has advised 4 doctoral committees, 7 master’s committees, and 30 additional graduate student committees. Awards recognize his excellence in student advising and educational outreach in fisheries. His lab, the Riverscape Ecology Lab (www.riverscapeecology.org), focuses on applied ecological research for freshwater systems.
