Andrew Taylor is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of North Georgia. His research focuses on fisheries biology and conservation ecology, particularly in river ecosystems and black bass (Micropterus species) diversity. He teaches courses including Principles of Biology II, Human Anatomy and Physiology II, and Vertebrate Zoology.

- M.S. in Forest Resources, University of Georgia
- B.S. in Fisheries Management and Aquaculture, University of Georgia
Research Interests
Dr. Taylor's work integrates population genetics, riverscape modeling, and conservation biology to address challenges in native fish biodiversity preservation. His lab investigates:
- Impacts of human-altered riverscapes on aquatic ecosystems
- Effects of non-native and invasive fish species
- Science-based management of native black bass populations
Expertise
