Joshua Wretzel

Joshua Wretzel is an Associate Teaching Professor of Philosophy at Pennsylvania State University's Department of Philosophy within the College of the Liberal Arts. His research examines the intersections of hermeneutics, phenomenology, and pragmatism in 19th-century philosophy.

His scholarly work focuses on Kantian philosophy, Hegelian dialectics, and philosophical hermeneutics, particularly exploring rational reconstruction in interpretation and concepts of despair in Hegelian thought. He is currently developing a book manuscript titled 'Reconstructing the Past'.

Professor Wretzel teaches courses on Existentialism, Ethical Leadership, Philosophy of Mind, and Contemporary Philosophy. His pedagogical approach connects historical philosophical frameworks with contemporary ethical and epistemological questions.
