Jay Lampert is Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Duquesne University's McAnulty College of Liberal Arts, specializing in 19th-20th Century Continental Philosophy and Metaphysics. His research focuses on philosophy of time, Hegelian dialectics, Deleuzian philosophy, and phenomenological traditions.
Research explores temporal concepts including simultaneity, delay, and decision-making across philosophical traditions. Current book project 'Decisions and Futures' examines temporal dimensions of choice. Additional interests include African philosophy, Ancient Egyptian thought, and philosophical analyses of film editing techniques.
Publications include 'Simultaneity and Delay' and 'Deleuze and Guattari's Philosophy of History', with articles addressing Hegel, Husserl, Derrida, and Deleuze. Recent work examines AI through philosophical lenses and temporal paradoxes in decision theory.
