His research focuses on animal welfare (particularly in captive wildlife), endocrinology of stress and reproduction, and non-invasive monitoring techniques. His work has evaluated captive tiger welfare through behavioral and hormonal analysis, and investigated stress biomarkers in sheep systems.
Recent publications demonstrate expertise in faecal cortisol metabolite analysis in sheep systems, treatment of perennial ryegrass toxicosis in lambs, and development of non-invasive endocrinology protocols. These align with broader interests in conservation biology and wildlife management.
Joshua previously gained practical experience at a Thai tiger sanctuary (2014) and has taught across multiple disciplines including parasitology, animal pharmacology, and equine breeding management. He has also tutored through the Indigenous Academic Success Program.
