Joshua DeSilva is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at George Washington University's Columbian College of Arts & Sciences, affiliated with the Professional Psychology Program. They serve as Clinical Director and Deputy Director, leading the Groups, Organizations, and Culture Lab (GOCL), which provides free organizational assessment services to community organizations. Their work focuses on applying psychoanalytic theory to group dynamics, somatic therapies like AEDP and Somatic Experiencing, and liberation psychology.
Dr. DeSilva specializes in group and individual psychotherapy with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ populations, and has presented nationally on queer-inclusive group work. They currently serve as President-Elect of the Mid-Atlantic Group Psychotherapy Society, and hold roles on the AEDP Diversity Committee and International Board for Certification of Group Psychotherapists. In 2020, Governor Northam appointed them to the Virginia Latino Advisory Board, where they advised on Latinx affairs.
