Joshua Arrayales, J.D., serves as the Renberg Law Fellow at the Williams Institute, focusing on health law, bioethics, administrative law, and criminal justice with specialized expertise in discrimination, HIV/AIDS policy, transgender rights, and the intersection of race, age, and public policy.
His academic foundation includes:
- J.D. with health law concentration from University of California College of Law in San Francisco
- B.A. in Public Policy and Philosophy from New York University
Arrayales' research critically examines systemic inequities through multiple lenses: health law frameworks addressing HIV/AIDS disparities, bioethical implications in medical settings, administrative law governing police practices, and policy analysis of federal/state legislation impacting marginalized communities. His work emphasizes the lived experiences of transgender individuals, people of color, and older adults within legal systems.
During law school, he gained practical experience through internships at the Center for WorkLife Law and Kaiser Permanente’s NorCal Regional Ethics Department, while contributing to legal scholarship as staff editor for the Journal on Gender and Justice and Executive Acquisitions Co-Editor for the Constitutional Quarterly.
