Joseph T. Glatthaar

Joseph Glatthaar is Stephenson Distinguished Professor of History at UNC Chapel Hill, specializing in American military history with focus on the Civil War. His quantitative analysis of the Army of Northern Virginia pioneered methodological approaches in military history. He holds a PhD from University of Wisconsin-Madison (1983).

Glatthaar teaches courses on War and American Society, the Civil War, and Revolutionary America.
