Joseph S. Hornack is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Law and an Adjunct Professor of Business, Law, and Ethics at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business. He also serves as Director of the Human Resources Law Online Certificate Program. His legal practice focuses on employee rights, benefits, and disability-related claims, including workers' compensation, Social Security disability, and employment discrimination.

- J.D., Rutgers University School of Law, 1981 (Recipient of the J. Skelley Wright Prize)
- B.A., Miami University, 1978 (with honors)
Research and Professional Activities: Mr. Hornack’s work emphasizes disability law, labor rights, and ethical practices in business. He has held roles such as Special Counsel to Pittsburgh City Council, Solicitor for the Steel Valley Authority, and Hearing Officer for the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. He has also contributed to disability advocacy through roles with the Allegheny County Bar Association and Disability Rights Pennsylvania.
Professional Affiliations: Member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, past Chair of its Law and Disability Committee, and Legal Committee member of Disability Rights Pennsylvania.
