Joseph MacDougald

Joseph MacDougald is a Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law and Executive Director of the Center for Energy and Environmental Law. He teaches Land Use, Climate Law, and Renewable Energy Law, and oversees student externships. With a multidisciplinary background including an MBA from NYU and a master's in environmental management from Yale, he brings 20 years of private industry experience to his academic role. His community service includes leadership positions on Madison's Planning and Zoning Commission and Land Conservation Trust.

His research explores environmental law intersections with land use policy, climate adaptation, and sustainable energy frameworks, emphasizing regulatory effectiveness.
