Joseph M. Carlin

Joseph M. Carlin is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology at Miami University, where he serves as Director of the Mallory-Wilson Center for Healthcare Education and chairs the Pre-health Advisory Committee. His research focuses on host-pathogen interactions, particularly Chlamydia trachomatis evasion of immune responses and the role of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) in antimicrobial defense. He investigates cytokine-mediated immune mechanisms using molecular and cellular approaches.
