Joseph M. Hobbs is the EECS Undergraduate Program Director at the College of Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Toledo. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and has over 20 years of industry experience in electronics, controls, and lean engineering.
- Education: Ph.D. (Georgia Tech, 2002), MSE (Youngstown State University, 1996), BSEE (Ohio State University, 1994)
His research focuses on dielectric materials, thin-film nanocomposites, and simultaneous switching noise suppression in integrated circuits. He has led fabrication efforts in class 1000 cleanrooms using low-temperature processing techniques.
Scientific Awards:
- General Motors Fellowship (1998)
With industry leadership roles at Delphi, General Electric, and Vitamix Corporation, he also serves as a DFSS/DMAIC Black Belt-certified engineer and has held positions including Project Engineer, Program Manager, and Lean Engineering Manager.
