Joseph Lenow is a Resident Assistant Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences at Creighton University. He holds a PhD in Theology, Ethics, and Culture from the University of Virginia (2017), an M.Div. from Duke University Divinity School (2011), and a B.A. in Religious Studies, History, and Astronomy from the University of Virginia (2008). His research focuses on philosophical and systematic theology, with special emphasis on Augustine and Latin Patristics, comparative philosophy of religion, Islamic philosophy, and medieval spirituality.
His teaching experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant for courses on religious ethics, the rise of Christianity, comparative religion, early Christianity, and elements of Christian thought at the University of Virginia between 2012-2014. Notable among his academic works is his dissertation titled Suffering the World: An Augustinian Christology.
