Joseph J. Campos

Joseph J. Campos is a Professor of the Graduate School in the Department of Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on developmental transitions in infancy, particularly the impact of motor development (e.g., crawling) on cognitive, social, and emotional functioning. He also investigates cross-cultural patterns in infants' emotional expressions, conducting studies in Japan, China, and the U.S. His work includes experimental designs comparing active vs. passive locomotion experiences.
