Joëlle Provasi is a Senior Lecturer at the École Pratique des Hautes Études (EPHE) since 1994, affiliated with the CHArt-EPHE Laboratory (Human and Artificial Cognition, EA 4004/FED 4246). Her research focuses on infants' abilities to perceive, produce, and modify rhythms to synchronize with their environment, bridging neuroscience and developmental psychology.
She earned her PhD from the University of Paris 5 and a HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) from EPHE in 2016. Her work explores how prenatal motor, vestibular, and rhythmic stimulation impacts neonatal and infant development, particularly in premature infants.
- ANR PREMOVE: Examines prenatal motor and vestibular stimulation effects on infant skills
- ANR Premalocom: Develops crawling training for premature infants at motor delay risk
- ANR Neolocom: Investigates newborns' walking capabilities
- ANR Memotime: Studies memory of time
- SMART Program: Engagement in Human-Humanoid Interaction
- Co-inventor of Patent 3637807: Infant crawling assistance device
Provasi supervises numerous Master's and Bachelor's students and interns, contributing to academic training and applied research in developmental neuroscience.
