Joseph Halpern is a Professor in the Computer Science Department at Cornell University, USA, and currently serves as department chair. He earned a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Toronto (1975) and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Harvard University (1981).
Research Interests: Halpern's work focuses on reasoning about knowledge and uncertainty, security, distributed computation, decision theory, and game theory, with applications in artificial intelligence and multi-agent systems. He coauthored foundational books like Reasoning About Knowledge and Reasoning About Uncertainty, and holds 6 patents.
