Joseph Edward Alegado

Joseph Edward Alegado is a PhD candidate in Resource, Environment and Development at Australian National University and a part-time lecturer at Ateneo de Manila University. His research examines socio-ecological crises, degrowth, disaster resilience, and food sovereignty.

Education: M.Arts in Development Studies (ISS, The Hague), M.Public Management (Ateneo School of Government), AB.Communications (Ateneo de Manila).

Research focuses on plastic pollution mitigation, community-based disaster response, and sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region. Previously, he led communications for #breakfreefromplastic and managed disaster risk reduction initiatives with Oxfam.
