معرفی
Joseph Alec Wilcox is an Experimental Condensed Matter Physicist affiliated with the Department of Physics at the University of Bath since July 2023. Previously, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the School of Physics, University of Bristol (2018–2023) and completed his PhD in Condensed Matter Physics (2014–2019) and MSci in Physics (2010–2014) at the University of Bristol.
His research focuses on unconventional superconductors, particularly the coexistence of ferromagnetism and superconductivity in iron-based materials like EuFe2(As1−xPx)2. He investigates vortex dynamics, flux pinning, and interactions between magnetic domains and superconducting states, with applications in high-current superconducting tapes. Earlier work explored heavy-fermion superconductors (CeCu2Si2) and the non-linear Meissner effect in nodal superconductors.
Recent research output includes a 2025 Communications Materials article on magnetically controlled vortex dynamics in ferromagnetic superconductors, a 2024 Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter study on CsV3Sb5, and collaborations with groups at the University of Tokyo, University of Bordeaux, and University of Bristol. Awards include being a finalist for the University of Bath Research Prize. He actively contributes to Python-based scientific visualization tools and has presented at international conferences in Japan and Czechia.
