Dr. Josefina Bravo is a Lecturer in the Department of Typography & Graphic Communication at the University of Reading. Her work focuses on Information Design, particularly on improving public understanding and action through visual methods in health, education, and climate communication. She co-leads the MA Communication Design: Information Design Pathway and oversees postgraduate admissions.

Her research explores how graphic approaches (diagrams, visualizations, text, and layout) enhance comprehension of complex information. Recent projects include designing instructions for home diagnostic tests, flood risk communication, and co-designing healthcare resources. She applies user-centered and participatory design methodologies.
Her publications span health communication, emergency management, and international health campaigns. Notably, she developed a toolkit for diagnostic test instructions, funded by UKRI/AHRC and the University of Reading AHRC IAA.
