Jose Ramos is a co-editor of the peer-reviewed Journal of Futures Studies with over two decades of professional experience in foresight, futures studies, action research, and critical globalization studies. He has collaborated with dozens of governments, agencies, and communities across more than 20 countries worldwide.
His research focuses on participatory futures methodologies and influencing public imagination of the future. Ramos has published over 70 scholarly articles, chapters, and papers in various academic journals and publications. He holds a doctorate from Queensland University of Technology where he received their award for outstanding doctoral thesis.
Ramos recently co-founded the Participatory Futures Global Swarm initiative to amplify the use of participatory futures approaches globally. His work bridges academic research with practical applications in governance and community development.

As an active contributor to contemporary discourse, Ramos participated as a speaker at the AI for Good Global Summit 2024, presenting at AI Futures workshops that explored the transformative potential of artificial intelligence across environmental and health domains.
