Jose Manuel Vicent-Luna is an Assistant Professor in the Applied Physics department at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), affiliated with the Materials Simulation & Modelling group. His research focuses on atomistic-scale computer simulations of nanomaterials for energy applications, employing classical, quantum, and semiempirical techniques. He holds a PhD in Molecular Simulation of Ionic Liquids-Based Systems for Energy Applications from the University Pablo de Olavide (Spain, 2018), and conducted postdoctoral research in Portugal before joining TU/e in 2019.
Key research areas include adsorption in nanoporous materials, energy storage, and material design for sustainable applications. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to affordable and clean energy. Notable achievements include the 'Extraordinary Award of Doctorate Thesis' (2019) and over 1600 citations. His recent articles explore advanced materials like TAMOF-1 for flue gas capture, thermodynamical models for adsorption predictions, and high-entropy electrolytes for supercapacitors.
Publications span topics such as MOFs for thermochemical storage, hydrophobic frameworks in heat pumps, and AI-driven CO2 adsorption studies. His research bridges computational modeling with practical energy solutions, emphasizing material innovation for environmental sustainability.
