Jorge Luis Fabra-Zamora is an Associate Professor of Law at the University at Buffalo School of Law. His research focuses on legal and political philosophy, torts, and international human rights law. He holds an LL.B. from Universidad de Cartagena, and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Philosophy from McMaster University, Canada. Prior to his current role, he was a Provost Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and Adjunct Professor at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. His work explores legal pluralism, state liability, and the intersection of torts, administrative law, and human rights.
Professor Fabra-Zamora has published in leading journals such as McGill Law Review and Canadian Journal of Law and Society. He has edited volumes on Colombia’s peace process, globalization’s impact on jurisprudence, and legal philosophy encyclopedias. His current project develops a unified theory of legal systems encompassing state, indigenous, and transnational laws. He advises students pursuing advanced legal research degrees and supports international applicants through preliminary proposal reviews.
