Daniel On (A.D.) is an Assistant Professor in Privaatrecht at Maastricht University's Faculty of Law and a member of the Maastricht European Private Law Institute (MEPLI). He holds an LL.B. from Babeş-Bolyai University (2010), an LL.M. in Private Law (2011), and an LL.M. in Comparative Law from Louisiana State University (2013). His research focuses on tort law, obligations, and legal translation, with notable work on strict liability regimes and comparative European legal frameworks.

He has contributed to the Elgar Encyclopedia of Comparative Law and the Journal of Civil Law Studies.
Awards include the A.N. Yiannopoulos Endowed Scholarship (2011-2012). He served as a research associate at the Center of Civil Law Studies (2012-2014) and managing editor of the Journal of Civil Law Studies. Currently holds a special advising editor role in that journal.
Labs/Teams: Engaged with MEPLI and the Center of Civil Law Studies. His work bridges doctrinal scholarship with applied legal translation and comparative analysis across European jurisdictions.
