Jorge Barrera Rojas

Jorge Barrera Rojas is an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Chile and Universidad San Sebastián. He concurrently serves as a Non-resident Fellow at the Stanford Constitutional Law Center and a Research Associate in the Comparative Constitutions Project. His academic roles include teaching constitutional law and conducting research on comparative constitutional systems, education law, and religious freedom.

• Education: LL.B. (2011) from University of Chile, LL.M. (2017) from UCLA, J.S.D. candidate at Notre Dame Law School, and Ph.D. candidate in European and International Law at University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Research focuses on constitutional transitions, administrative law, election law, and international human rights. Recent publications explore the right to education, academic freedom in Chile, and free tuition policies. His work bridges legal theory with practical policy analysis, particularly in Latin American contexts.

He has received notable recognitions including the Burns Fellowship Award (2020) and El Mercurio '100 Young Leaders' Award (2017). His interdisciplinary approach engages with educational research through affiliations like the Notre Dame Program of Interdisciplinary Educational Research.
