Jordan R. Youngblood is an Associate Professor and Associate Department Chair in the English Department at Eastern Connecticut State University. His research focuses on digital humanities, particularly the intersections of video games with gender, sexuality, and queer theory. He holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Florida and an M.A. from the University of Mississippi. His work explores participatory fan culture, level and narrative design, and critical gaming literacy.
Dr. Youngblood’s research interests include digital culture, rhetoric, and the application of queer theory to analyze video game narratives and mechanics. His publications address topics such as homonationalism in Mass Effect, eco-apocalyptic themes in Final Fantasy VI, and queering failure in Metal Gear Solid 2.
