Jordan L Zendejas is an Instructor and Lecturer in the Tribal Management Program at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO), affiliated with the College of Public Affairs and Community Service and the Department of Emergency Management and Disaster Science. He serves as Associate Director of Tribal Management & Emergency Services, combining legal expertise with disaster preparedness. His academic background includes a BA in History from Brigham Young University (2006) and a Juris Doctorate from the J. Reuben Clark Law School (2009).
Research focuses on Native American Law, Tribal Management, and Emergency Management in tribal contexts. He co-authored Tribal Management and Emergency Services in the 21st Century: Research and Practice (Springer). Professional service includes organizing the annual BIA Tribal Emergency Management Workshop with FEMA and tribal partners, and leading UNO’s Native American outreach initiatives like the Wambli Saka Memorial Pow Wow.
He holds licensure with the Nebraska State Bar Association (2012) and the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska Bar Association (2017). Administrative roles include Assistant Director (2014–present) and active participation in UNO’s Chancellor’s Native American Cabinet, advocating for Native curriculum development.
