Jooyeon Hwang

Dr. Jooyeon Hwang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences at the School of Public Health, UTHealth Houston. She specializes in evaluating occupational exposure to contaminants and their health effects across industries like mining, agriculture, firefighting, and military, with a focus on developing innovative exposure-associated multi-omics assessment methods.

• Education: Ph.D. in Industrial Hygiene and M.S. in Environmental Health Sciences from the University of Minnesota.
• Postdoctoral Training: National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health.

Her research spans Environmental and Occupational Health, Epidemiology, and Genetics and -omics, aiming to characterize occupational/environmental exposures through integrative health studies.
