Chloe Sarnowski is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health. Her research focuses on genetic epidemiology and statistical genetics, particularly the interplay between genetic and environmental risk factors for complex human traits. She has specialized in integrating 'omics' data with genetics to better characterize biological mechanisms in diseases like type 2 diabetes and Alzheimer's, with a strong emphasis on ancestral diversity in genetic architecture. Her prior work includes a 5-year postdoctoral fellowship in Biostatistics at Boston University School of Public Health, where she applied statistical genetics to reproductive aging, neurogenetics, and glycemic traits.
Her research aims to reduce health disparities through preventive and therapeutic interventions, leveraging her expertise in big data analysis and multi-omics integration. She is affiliated with the Human Genetics Center at UTHealth Houston.
