Dr Adelle Liebenberg is a Lecturer and Course Coordinator for postgraduate Occupational Hygiene and Toxicology programs at Edith Cowan University (ECU). She holds a PhD in Environmental and Occupational Health (2023) and has over 20 years of industry and academic experience. Her qualifications include a Master of Science in Physiology from South Africa (2006) and a BSc (Honours) in Physiology (2004).

Research Interests: Focuses on occupational aerosol exposure, noise-induced hearing loss in mining, occupational epidemiology, and preventative risk management. Her work integrates real-time monitoring of wildland firefighters and evaluates health risks in high-exposure environments.
Awards: Recognized for leadership and injury prevention, including the 2025 Injury Prevention Award, Aurora Women in Leadership (2024), and multiple safety excellence awards. She has held leadership roles in the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH), including Chair of the Certification Board since 2021.
Grants & Projects: Currently leads the $107k MARS Grant (2024–2026) to develop workplace health metrics and the $36k DFES Undergarment Contamination Study (2023–2025). Previously contributed to mining injury risk projects via the MARS Barometer Grant.
Supervision: Active in PhD supervision, including principal supervision of occupational hygiene program development and co-supervision of asbestos risk studies in mining. Completed supervision includes research on wildland firefighter exposures.
