Jone Brunelle is a Lecturer in the Department of Communication at the University of Colorado Boulder and teaches through Continuing Education. She earned both her MA and PhD from CU Boulder's Department of Communication in the area of Community and Social Interaction.
Her research focuses on the social construction of identities and communities using ethnographic and discourse analysis methods. Key projects include studies on diasporic Basque identity in U.S. culture clubs and hybrid/third space identities among first-generation immigrants in adult ESL classes.
Since 2012, she has taught courses such as Discourse, Culture, and Identities; Intercultural Communication; Business and Professional Communication; and Communication and Gender. She has also contributed her expertise to industry roles at the International Labour Organization and the University of Virginia.
