Professor Jonathan Weber is a Professor of Communicable Diseases at Imperial College London's Department of Infectious Disease, part of the Faculty of Medicine. He also serves as Co-Director of the Research Hub at the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine and holds a concurrent Professorship in Medicine at the University of Cumbria's Institute of Health. His roles include past Directorships of the Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre (2015–2024) and Dean of Imperial College London's Faculty of Medicine (2017–2023).

Trained as a clinician, Weber specializes in HIV/AIDS, HTLV-I, and STIs. His research spans clinical epidemiology, humoral immunity in HIV, viral tropism, antiretroviral drugs, and HIV vaccine trials. He led Europe's first HIV vaccine efficacy trial in Africa (2018–2024) and co-founded the WHO Network for HIV Characterisation. He has published over 350 papers and edited the journal AIDS (1987–1992).
His awards include Fellowships from the Royal Colleges of Physicians and Pathologists, the Academy of Medical Sciences, and a CBE. He has advised UK government agencies and international bodies like the MRC and the Francis Crick Institute.
Research interests include HIV pathogenesis, vaccine development, and global health strategies. His work bridges clinical practice, laboratory research, and public health policy.
