Graham Taylor

Professor Graham Taylor is Professor of Human Retrovirology in the Department of Infectious Disease at Imperial College London's Faculty of Medicine. He serves as Head of the Section of Virology and is an Honorary Physician at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, leading the National Centre for Human Retrovirology.

Research Interests: Professor Taylor's work spans Clinical Sciences and Medical Microbiology with focus on human retroviruses (HTLV-1, HIV) and sexually transmitted infections. Key projects include identifying HTLV-1 patients at risk of Adult T-cell Leukemia/Lymphoma (ATL), managing HIV in pregnancy through cervico-vaginal microbiota studies, and developing T. pallidum diagnostics. His research integrates bench-to-bedside translation via the Molecular Diagnostic Unit.

Grants and Collaborations: Supported by MRC/Leuka funding, he co-founded the PANNA network for antiretroviral pharmacokinetics and collaborates with the March of Dimes Prematurity Research Center. His team partners with Imanova on CNS imaging for HTLV-associated myelopathy (HAM).

Laboratory and Team: Leads the Section of Virology with clinical and research staff including Dr. Lucy Cook (Clinical Senior Lecturer), Dr. Claire Greiller (Research Technician), and Dr. Carolina Rosadas de Oliveria (Research Associate), focusing on virology diagnostics and patient care.
