Jonathan Wadsworth is a Professor of Economics at Royal Holloway, University of London, affiliated with the Department of Economics and research centers including the Centre for Macroeconomic and Labour Economics (MaLEc). He holds additional affiliations with the Centre for Economic Performance (LSE) and the Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration (UCL).
Education: B.A. from University of Hull, followed by MSc and PhD at the London School of Economics (LSE).
Research focuses on Labour Economics and Applied Econometrics, with recent work addressing immigration impacts, labor market dynamics, public policy analysis, and historical labor market studies. His 2023-2024 publications explore topics ranging from demographic-immigration interactions to historical commuting patterns' economic effects.
Active in interdisciplinary projects, he led/co-led 5 funded research initiatives between 2006-2018 focusing on migration's training effects, minimum wage geographies, and economic aspects of intimate partner violence. These projects were supported by organizations like the ESRC, British Academy, and Low Pay Commission.
Labs/Teams: Collaborates through multi-institutional research networks, particularly with LSE and UCL centers, addressing contemporary economic challenges through quantitative methodologies.
