Jonathan Thomas is an Acting Department Chair and Professor of Mathematics Education at the University of Kentucky. He holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Kentucky, an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership, and an Ed.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of Cincinnati. His research focuses on responsive mathematics teaching practices, equity in elementary classrooms, non-verbal mathematical interactions, and children's cognitive progressions in mathematics. He serves as a faculty associate at the Kentucky Center for Mathematics (kymath.org) and provides professional learning experiences for educators statewide.
