Jonathan Stewart

Jonathan Stewart is a Clinical Research Fellow at Queen's University Belfast's School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences, based in the Wellcome Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine. His research focuses on post-hospital care optimization, critical illness recovery, respiratory disease management, and healthcare system improvements. He holds a Master of Philosophy in novel asthma care models from the same institution.

Research interests include post-ICU care fragmentation, long-term outcomes of respiratory interventions, and telemedicine applications in respiratory diseases. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to quality healthcare and reducing inequalities. Recent publications analyze critical care models, post-hospital recovery strategies, and telemedicine efficacy in respiratory management.

Advising includes supervision of a Master’s thesis on asthma care during the pandemic. Collaborations span international teams addressing ICU care challenges and respiratory failure treatment. He actively engages in experimental medicine research through his affiliation with the Wellcome Wolfson Institute.
