Jonathan Ruiz Ramie is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the College of Education and Human Development, Augusta University. He holds a Ph.D. in Exercise Science and Kinesiology from the University of South Carolina (2020), an MS in the same field (2016), and a BS from the University of North Carolina (2014).
His research focuses on exercise physiology, compression garments, percussive therapy, and maternal physical activity. He teaches courses such as Exercise Physiology, Fitness Assessment, and the History & Philosophy of Kinesiology.
His recent publications (2024) reflect a strong trend in applied kinesiology, particularly examining the physiological effects of compression wear and percussive therapy during exercise, as well as advocating for physical activity monitoring during pregnancy. These works span disciplines including biomechanics, sports science, and public health.
His scientific recognition includes:

He actively mentors through his role as Faculty Advisor of the Augusta University Run Club and serves on multiple university and professional committees, particularly in diversity, equity, and inclusion. He is a reviewer and committee member for the American College of Sports Medicine and leads the FDC DEI Subcommittee at Augusta University.
He is involved in service across departmental, institutional, and national levels, demonstrating strong commitment to academic leadership, inclusive excellence, and community engagement in kinesiology and health sciences.
