Dr. James Sackett is an Associate Professor of Kinesiology at Cornerstone University, affiliated with The School of Health, Science & Technology Education. He holds a Ph.D. in Exercise and Nutrition Sciences from the University at Buffalo (2018), an M.S. in Exercise Physiology from Ball State University (2015), and a B.A. in Exercise Science from Adrian College (2013). His research focuses on human physiology during water immersion, environmental physiology, and sport performance.
Dr. Sackett’s work explores thermoregulatory mechanisms, cardiovascular responses to environmental stressors, and the effects of exercise interventions. His recent studies include investigations into the physiological impacts of compression garments, G-suit technology, and the effects of water immersion on ventilatory sensitivity. He has published extensively in journals like Experimental Physiology and the American Journal of Physiology.
He is a member of The American Physiological Society and the American College of Sports Medicine. His teaching philosophy integrates his Christian faith with kinesiology, emphasizing mentorship and student engagement. Hobbies include snowmobiling, woodworking, and sports like baseball and hockey.
