Jonathan Roberts

Jonathan Roberts is a Teaching Director and Professor (Education) at the Marshall Institute for Philanthropy and Social Entrepreneurship within the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He specializes in developing educational programs such as the executive MSc in Social Business and Entrepreneurship and the MPA in Social Impact. His expertise spans social policy, education policy, social enterprise, philanthropy, and hybrid organizations.

He holds a PhD in Social Policy from LSE (Titmuss Prize recipient) and a BA in Classics from the University of Cambridge. Prior to academia, he worked in UK charities, shaping his focus on private action for public benefit.

Research interests include hybrid organizations, altruism, social enterprise roles in public service, and pre-school/family policy. Recent studies include ethical consumerism and European philanthropy. He has published in social policy, education, and public administration journals.
