Dr. Jonathan Quicke is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic Research at the University of Queensland, affiliated with the STARS Education and Research Alliance. His work focuses on improving treatments for joint pain, particularly osteoarthritis, through evidence-based interventions like exercise, education, and weight management. He holds an Honorary Senior Research Fellow position at Keele University, UK, and previously served as Research into Practice Adviser at the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Dr. Quicke has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles in top journals such as The Lancet Rheumatology and Osteoarthritis and Cartilage. His research priorities include understanding effective osteoarthritis management programs and translating evidence into clinical practice. He actively contributes to national and international initiatives, including the OARSI Joint Effort Initiative and UK NICE guidelines.
He has supervised three completed research students and currently oversees an ongoing doctoral candidate. Notable awards include the OARSI Young Investigator Award (2014) and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Robert Williams Award (2015). His work emphasizes collaboration, equity in healthcare, and improving patient outcomes through innovative approaches like telehealth and digital interventions.
Dr. Quicke’s affiliations extend to the Centre for Innovation in Pain and Health Research and the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences. He is available for PhD supervision and actively engaged in advancing Allied Health Professions research.
