Jonathan P Decter

Jonathan P Decter is the Edmond J. Safra Professor of Sephardic Studies at Brandeis University, affiliated with the Department of Near Eastern and Judaic Studies. He is also associated with interdisciplinary programs in Comparative Literature and Culture, Religious Studies, and Medieval and Renaissance Studies.

• Ph.D. and M.Phil. from the Jewish Theological Seminary

His research focuses on Jews in the Islamic World, Medieval Spain, Judeo-Arabic Studies, and Medieval Hebrew and Arabic Literature. His work bridges Jewish Thought with comparative literary analysis.
