Jonathan Noyalas serves as Director of the McCormick Civil War Institute at Shenandoah University, located in Davis Hall. He holds a B.S. from Shenandoah University and an M.A. from Virginia Tech. His expertise spans Civil War Era History, The Old South, Shenandoah Valley History, Slavery, and Historical Memory.
Research focuses on Civil War legacy, memory, and regional history, with over 100 published articles in journals like Civil War History and contributions to National Geographic’s documentaries. He has consulted for the National Park Service and Civil War Trust.
