Jonathan Mullins is an Assistant Professor of Italian in the Department of French and Italian at The Ohio State University, affiliated with the History of Art, Film Studies, and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. His research focuses on media’s role in shaping mass and countercultures, particularly in 20th-century Italy. He holds a Ph.D. in Italian Studies from New York University (2015) and has held academic positions at USC and Dartmouth.

Research Interests: Mullins examines ephemeral media (e.g., zines, radio, photography) of 1970s Italian leftist movements, linking them to avant-garde aesthetics and queer ecology. His work bridges cultural history, media studies, and political theory.
