Jonathan Marks

Jonathan Marks is Professor of Political Philosophy at Ursinus College. He holds B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Chicago.

Research examines:

• Rousseau's political philosophy
• Communitarian theory
• Conservative perspectives on liberal education

Publications analyze tensions between individual liberty and community in modern political thought. His work regularly appears in the American Political Science Review and Wall Street Journal.
