Professor Jonathan Hook is a Professor in Interactive Media at the School of Arts and Creative Technologies, University of York. He joined in 2014 and led the Interactive Media BSc program from 2019-2023. His research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), designing innovative interactive media tools and content to address societal challenges such as environmental sustainability, health, and public engagement with data. He co-founded the Digital Creativity Labs, a £4m interdisciplinary research center. Current projects include EPSRC-funded 'Perspective Media' and InnovateUK's 'WEAVR' for cross-reality spectator experiences.

Research Interests: Professor Hook explores immersive storytelling, AI in fundraising, and interactive technologies. His work combines computational methods with human-centered design to create impactful creative tools and experiences. Key areas include climate action through games, AI ethics in nonprofits, and AR/VR applications in education and museums.

Labs & Teams: Co-founder of the Digital Creativity Labs and a core member of the interdisciplinary research group exploring immersive media and creative industries at York.
