Jonathan Hart is a Chair Professor at the School of Translation Studies, Shandong University, with affiliations spanning Harvard University, University of Toronto, University of Cambridge, and other institutions. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Royal Historical Society, and Royal Society of Arts, and has held visiting professorships at Princeton, Sorbonne-Nouvelle (Paris III), and Bridgewater State University.
His research encompasses comparative and world history and literature, poetry and poetics, history of science and philosophy, and Shakespeare and theatre. He explores intersections between intellectual history, cultural studies, and legal thought, emphasizing social change and global perspectives.
