Jonathan H. Klein

Jonathan H. Klein is an Associate Professor at Southampton Business School in the University of Southampton, working part-time since 2019. He holds a BSc in Physics with Mathematics, a Master's in the Physics of Ion Implantation and Radiation Effects in Materials, and a PhD in Decision-Making and Research Gaming.

His research focuses on problem structuring methods (PSMs), healthcare delivery optimization, evidence-based decision-making, and knowledge sharing within communities of practice. He has contributed to interdisciplinary projects like improving maternal and child health services in Brazil (MRC-funded) and EPSRC-funded studies on non-participation in higher education.

Teaching includes the postgraduate module Managing Complexity, Uncertainty and Subjectivity (MANG6515), covering Soft Systems Methodology (SSM) and Strategic Options Development & Analysis (SODA). He currently supervises PhD student Huw Rhys Davies in Business Studies & Management. Active in research groups like CORMSIS and the Centre for Healthcare Analytics, his work bridges operational research with healthcare and policy challenges.
