Jonathan Fineberg is a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of California, Irvine, and holds Emeritus titles at the University of Illinois and The Phillips Collection. He specializes in Art History, the psychology of art, and creative processes. His career spans teaching at Yale, Harvard, and other institutions, alongside curating exhibitions and authoring influential books on modern and contemporary art.

- Research: Focuses on child art’s influence on modernism, neuroscience of creativity, and psychoanalytic theory.
His research explores the intersection of art, mind, and brain, with notable works like *The Innocent Eye* and *Modern Art at the Border of Mind and Brain*. He has contributed to PBS documentaries, including *Imagining America*, and advised on Christo’s projects.
Awards include the College Art Association’s Distinguished Teaching Award and recognition for art criticism. He co-founded the Center for the Study of Modern Art at The Phillips Collection and currently directs Rowan University’s PhD in Creativity program.
