Jonathan Dagenais is a Course Lecturer in Music at McGill University's Schulich School of Music and teaches composition at Université de Sherbrooke. He holds dual roles as conductor and educator, leading the McGill Wind Orchestra and serving as Artistic Director of MusicFest Québec. His expertise spans instrumental conducting, music education, and video game music arrangement.
He co-founded and directs the Orchestre à Vents Non Identifié (OVNI), conducts the Ottawa Pops Orchestra (OPO), and collaborates with organizations including Yamaha Canada and Twigg Musique. His compositions and arrangements are internationally performed and published by Alfred Music and others.
Active in music festivals, he adjudicates annually at over 35 North American events and teaches at summer camps. His pedagogical work emphasizes ensemble cohesion, active listening, and humor in musical interpretation.
