معرفی
Jonathan Codd is a Senior Lecturer in Integrative Vertebrate Biology at The University of Manchester’s Faculty of Life Sciences, within the Division of Evolution, Infection and Genomics. His research focuses on functional constraints in vertebrate respiratory and locomotor systems, particularly in birds and mammals. He holds a BSc from Flinders University (1996), MSc from the University of Adelaide (2001), and PhD from the University of Bonn (2004).
- Education:
- Bachelor of Science, Flinders University of South Australia (1996)
- Master of Science, The University of Adelaide (2001)
- PhD, University of Bonn (2004)
Research interests include avian respiratory mechanics (e.g., uncinate processes), locomotor energetics, and poultry welfare. His work combines in vivo/ex vivo techniques to study how physiological and morphological constraints shape vertebrate systems. He has secured funding from the Leverhulme Trust, BBSRC, and NERC. Notable collaborations include studies on turtle self-righting, avian kinematics, and sea turtle physiology.
Jonathan is an External Examiner for Biology & Zoology at the University of Southampton and actively contributes to academic societies like the Society for Experimental Biology.
