معرفی
Dr. Adrian Gleiss is a Senior Lecturer at Murdoch University's School of Environmental and Conservation Sciences, where he leads the Marine Megafauna research theme at the Centre for Sustainable Aquatic Ecosystems. His research integrates physiology and ecology to understand evolutionary adaptations in marine organisms.
Research specialties include buoyancy mechanisms in marine vertebrates, thermal effects on ectotherm performance, and locomotor ecology across species ranging from jellyfish to whale sharks. His PEAC-Lab develops innovative biologging techniques to study animal behavior in challenging environments.
Honors include Wingate Scholarship, Endeavour Research Fellowship, and Human Frontier Science Program Fellowship. Dr. Gleiss holds a PhD in Marine Biology from Swansea University and directs research on megafauna movement ecology using advanced tracking technologies.
Research areas:
- Physiological constraints on marine predator movement
- Biomechanics of swimming in large pelagic species
- Conservation applications of biologging data
- Energetics of marine megafauna
